The Tides of Kithrup[edit]

trying to use google for this, it looks like it was a a novella/novellete (i think the sfwa makes quantified distinction between the two based on word count) published in an issue of analog in 1981, and that the title wound up on uncorrected proofs that might work their way into the hands of collectors. i have an old bantam paperback of startide rising that actually lists the tides of kithrup as a book to be bought, but doesnt list SR. it's one of those checkbox lists of books bantam published around the time, so content of the list could be older than the book, or it could be a different book altogether. • As far as I know, what you put in the article is right on. --Etacar11 05:05, 12 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • the proofs are here. someone claimed it had been published serially in analogue, but the copyright page of st contradicts that well enough. Nateji77 03:20, 13 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Book Cover image[edit]

Could someone please get the book cover designation on the image working? Everytime I try to do it it comes up with a copyright violation error thing.

... of 6[edit]

I think there are 8 total, since there are two trilogies. I'll fix it when I get a chance if no one beats me to it ++Lar: t/c 22:33, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are six: Sundiver, Startide Rising, Uplift War, Brightness Reef, Infinity's Shore, and Heaven's Reach. I don't know how you are getting 8. Raul654 20:56, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He might be including the two lesser-known short stories: The Aficionado (aka. Life in the Extreme), which is available free on Brin's Web site; and Temptation, which appeared in a multi-author collection called "Far Horizons." The second is a direct sequel to a loose end from the second trilogy, nicely tying that up while opening a huge can of worms. The first isn't explicitly in the same universe, but involves early Uplift and could be considered a very early prequel. -Kris Schnee 11:11, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Trilogy means 3. There are 2 trilogies. Sundiver, Startide Rising, and The Uplift War make up the Uplift Trilogy. Brightness Reef, Infinity's Shore, and Heaven's Reach make up the Uplift Storm Trilogy. Hydrazulu 01:08, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Film version[edit]

Since the film version of this movie has been 'tabled' would it make sense to delete this section of the article, or perhaps re-word it to say that the rights were purchased and remove the currently in development? Captain-tucker (talk) 02:46, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
