It would be really awesome if there was a link on where to download this software, or how to configure the apt repo to allow install, or something useful... especially since useful instructions seem to be absent from the software page itself.

"Tool" needs to be defined[edit]

If this is a "tool" then what are: dd, file, stat, mount, nkfs, or any of the many other commands for which both source exists and for which there is usually a binary (for many Linux distros, or for a BSD distro)? Given that Linux/Unix "tools" exist and that more than one is required to produce a bootable USB, which is what? I'm looking for a difference between "tool" and "application".

Like a hammer or a screwdriver, a tool does one thing very well. A machine shop usually has several tools that can be used to make something useful whereas a tool is usually required to perform one very-focused task. USB-creator certainly seems like a full-fledged application, not a tool. It has nowhere near the focus of dd. Live-magic, listed as tool used to create a live USB, does not do anything. It is an optional graphical interface to live-helper. Without live-helper, it doesn't do anything. Live-helper man pages refer to itself as _many_ scripts.

Wikipedia may not be a "technical" document but it is not intended as a marketing tool either. (Pun intended.)
