Recognition[edit]

Ms Adele Byrne (PSM) was recognised in 2008 for her outstanding public service in the establishment and administration of the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia.

I think it noteworthy that the establishment, consolidation and excellent administration of the State Administrative Tribunal Western Australia would not have been possible without the outstanding public service of Mr Watt. Marcus Antonious (talk) 11:21, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. As a former staff member I think that without Alex Watt at the beginning, during the establishment and formation of operations and then consolidation, the SAT would not have been as succesful.

State Administrative Tribunal of Western AustraliaState Administrative Tribunal – There is no article named "State Administrative Tribunal", making this unnecessary disambiguation. If there were other State Administrative Tribunal's, then this article should use bracket disambiguation. Steelkamp (talk) 05:05, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose unnecessary trimming - when looking at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Australian_tribunals there is a good argument to keep the state name as a qualifier in the title. JarrahTree 05:32, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The common initialism for the State Administrative Tribunal is SAT. The common initialism for the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal is ACAT. The common initialism for the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal is VCAT. The common initialism for the New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal is NCAT. The pages in that category are all titled by their official and common names. Look at the website for NCAT. It calls itself the "NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal". Look at the website for VCAT. It calls itself the "Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal". Look at the website for SAT. It calls itself the "State Administrative Tribunal", not the "State Administrative Tribunal of Western Australia". The reason for each of those pages mentioning the state in the page title is not for some sort of Wikipedia consistency or disambiguation, its because those are the official and common names for those tribunals. The odd one out is the State Administrative Tribunal of Western Australia, the only one with artificial disambiguation. Steelkamp (talk) 05:41, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I was not interested in either self created initialisms or what the websites might have, I simply looked at the titles in the category - and it seemed that the current crop as they are in wikipedia - where the name of the state was in the title. Not sure about all the rest, if someone agrees with you fine, I was simply pointing out what comes from looking at category lists - good luck to you, trust you have ac this muggy heat makes me wish I was back in tropical rain storms somewhere in southeast asia. • Oppose for clarity's sake. Looks far too generic and all Australian states have a tribunal with a very similar name. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:40, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
