State of the Nation is not only about the Phillipines you damn bastards[edit]

Russia and a handful of other countries have a State of the Nation as well. Too bad you smelly Filipinos are too ignorant to notice. Man if I was Hirohito I would've treated you brown chinks more seriously. --- November 3, 2006,WaWa12

You know what, this is not the place to just rant because the Philippines got this article first. Sheesh. If you believe we can move the article, go ahead. And we're not bastards; it's the one calling us "bastards" that's a bastard. --Sky Harbor 12:03, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We Filipinos accept and welcome suggestions, but leave your insults in your country. Too bad your vodka is making you lose your sense of decency. Oh, do you have enough rubles to pay for vodka or are you just drinking rubbing alcohol? Modelwatcher 17:12, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is true that other nations have a SONA too.. like Mexico, they call it as SONA too.. but you dont need to make insults on our article. We are very flexible on adjustments. --Glenncando 05:31, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hi. I added a photo gallery of protests along Commonwealth Avenue during the 2007 SONA. Matikas 0805 (talk) 05:49, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The list of SONAs should be deleted[edit]

The list of SONA addresses should be deleted because the list does not fit in an encyclopedia. This is not a comprehensive archive and such lists are not in other Wikipedia articles about the different countries' versions of the Speech from the throne. Instead, we should provide a link to the good external page that has copies of all the speeches for those interested such as one maintained by Malacanang. --Bruce Hall (talk) 13:43, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Being WP:bold I went ahead and deleted the list of addresses but clarified the external link to the same list. The list here was just a duplicate of the list at the President's Official Gazette website and I saw no need to repeat the exact same information. If there were separate articles on each SONA that might be another thing but I see no need for a list of external links. The info is also at Wikisource:Portal:State of the Nation Speeches by Philippine Presidents. By the way do check out Template:State of the Union. Something like that could be done here. --Iloilo Wanderer (talk) 07:49, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why remove local version section?[edit]

Why remove the local version section? It seems to be perfect for Wikipedia. It adds context and there may be some surfing the web for information on provincial and city speeches. Since the same editor seemed to remove it, then add it, and then remove it again, I will give this comment a short time to generate or not generate a response and then if there are no objections, I will restore it. --Bruce Hall (talk) 19:01, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I put it back in.--Iloilo Wanderer (talk) 07:49, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
