Merge SceneSpot and Static Line[edit]

  • I tried to recreate the SceneSpot page. Admittedly, I'm relatively new to Wiki, and wasn't aware that it was intentionally deleted, nor did I know how to check for that sort of history. Vossanova pointed out that it was nominated for deletion in the past. Static Line and SceneSpot were directly related to each other. SceneSpot was the overall encompassing entity, actually. It was tied into several things such as hosting for demogroups, hosting for several demoscene related mailing lists (including Static Line) among other things. However, per wikipedia guidelines, it did not have the notability that Static Line had.
So I'd like to expand the Static Line article to include information about SceneSpot. But I don't know how best to handle it. As I said, SceneSpot was the root of Static Line. Static Line wouldn't have even existed if it wasn't for the whole SceneSpot model -- which was a goal right from the very beginning of Static Line -- though the public knowledge of SceneSpot didn't come to realization for 3 or 4 years. In my eyes, I think Static Line should fall under SceneSpot. I don't feel that the understanding of either can be achived if done the other way. What are your thoughts? --Coplan 21:02, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SceneSpot. The last deleted edit of page SceneSpot read:
SceneSpot is one of the major demoscene focus points that developed after the closure of the Hornet Archive. While not hosting files like Hornet did, it acts as a news and notifaction site. It also has an active forum community and hosts the now defunct Static Line. SceneSpot is run and maintained by Coplan of the demogroup Fulcrum.
with these external links: SceneSpot, Coplan's profile on Orange Juice, Fulcrum's homepage. It was classed as a {{Web-stub}}. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:43, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support static line should be what's found, although a discussion on WikiPedia policy about capital lettering used as a discriminator is going on... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.142.152.104 (talk) 13:51, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
