Haji

Why does he have Haji in his surname? He is Greek Cypriot yet Haji is an Islamic surnameSpiderone (talk) 13:20, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

The prefix Haji, or Hadji is also used in Greek to denote previous travel to the Christian Holy Lands. It is a remnant of the Ottoman occupation of the Balkans. You can read more about it here. StephP (talk) 18:09, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Contradiction?

The first paragraph states: "He is of Greek Cypriot origins and is resident in London, Monaco and Athens". The second states "Haji-Ioannou has chosen to avoid paying tax in the country by residing in Monaco". Do these two sentences (particularly the lines I've bolded) not contradict each other? This man was born in Athens, by a Greek father and a Greek Cypriot mother. Finished secondary education in Athens therefore he must have stayed in Greece until he was 18, and by definition of the two first statements, his mother language can only be Greek. How on earth has he been claimed as British? does he hold a british passport or has he been naturalised in the UK? And even so has he been asked how he recognises himself? The man finished a university degree in the UK and does business in the UK. That is the closest he had got to being "British". The family's primary assets are from shipping (again Greek companies).

EasyCar

The following sentence is a clear case of a biased and subjective point of view and, moreover, is quoted without any third-party, reliable references, which constitutes original research : "Whilst some may see this as the prerogative of a successful and wealthy businessman, others have questioned the morals behind this decision, saying it is motivated by greed and is a mean-spirited display of making money from the people of Britain whilst refusing to contribute".
