References[edit]

The refs as listed are useless, since there are not citations to show which ones are to be used to verify which points. Some links seems to not work. Most are also not independent of the subject, so do not provide the required evidence of WP:notability. Please work on this instead of just removing the tags. The refrences have been worked on using the MLA citation examples. All links are working. The two main sources are published biographies written by Sterling Elliott's son Harmon. These sources should provide the required evidence of WP:notability. 15:31, 3 October 2007. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.111.218.163 (talk)

Ackermann steering geometry...[edit]

Interesting story about how Elliott realized that "somehow the inside wheel must turn at a slower speed than the one on the outside" and the experiments he performed to devise a solution. But, isn't this just what is usually referred to as the Ackermann steering geometry, devised by Erasmus Darwin in 1758? If not, then in what way is this different?
