lily-white[edit]

"Other than Bellán in Troy, the league was lily-white."

That line remains in the article, the gist of a few sentences that I have otherwise deleted, beginning "More than fifty years before Jackie Robinson." Is there any reason to doubt that Bellan was lily-white? --P64 03:01, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Bellán was white. Until 1900 the Cuban League was a segregated, whites-only league. BRMo 03:14, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DOB[edit]

Several sources give October 1, 1949 as the DOB, such as [Wikipedia]- which includes two good references (one from the student registry at St John's/Fordham, the other from his passport). I have changed it here to the more specific date. The Original Historygeek (talk) 20:15, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oops! Yes, BRMo- I meant that to be 1849, not 1949! The Original Historygeek (talk) 22:14, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
