Untitled[edit]

I believe there is enough material to justify an entry. He was the founding editor of the Columbus Free Press and made various contributions to the underground press as well as working on anthologies of same (see links on article. Sorry I cannot devote more time to him at this moment (I only came to fix a category error!) but hope to be back in the near future with some useful data. In addition to being a person of importance as an author, historian, and activist leader, Steve was a personal friend. I know he would appreciate historical accuracy for his Wikipedia profile, and as I have obtained consent from the source and his nearest living relative, I seek to honor his memory by updating his page with a photographic likeness that is accurate. tww1962

how do I edit the 1st part of the entry? Trying to fix it! I have footnotes!PB57 (talk) 13:24, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I don't know what you mean by first part, and am not much of a code-expert myself, but one way is to look at the raw code by clicking on 'edit' and compare it with another page or a similar code on this page. Randy Kryn (talk) 13:28, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

the *whole entry* is not editable: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Conliff -- no place to click "edit" or I would have. only "external links" has an edit link. why? confused. PB57 (talk) 14:01, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

PumpkinButter, oh, the entire entry is uneditable for you. Maybe it's protected, or you have to have a certain number of edits. Seems you can edit the talk page, so please put the edit you want here and I'll try to move it to the page, thanks. Would be nice to have the picture leading off the page. I think its better than start class now; who changes these things? PB57 (talk) 22:51, 20 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the following:

I basically agree with this, just don't know what to do about it. I was able to fix the Jill Johnston page to some extent (same issue), but not this one.

I wanted to string together what had already been posted (I didn't start the page) with basic biographical facts of his life, but not sure how to do that. I have never started a wikipedia page before, for these exact reasons; I am very unsure of how to present things and which categories they go in. I wanted to make this page presentable (it really wasn't before) at least. But yes, if the tone can change (? dunno how to do that), have at it!

I do have this opinion that people like Steve Conliff are the essence of movements, the bread-and-butter, if you will. The big stars of the left and right, of religion and politics, come and go, but the hard workers who get it done and make the converts are the ones who keep things going for decades, and we need to hear more about such people.

I guess I am challenging the whole "who is worthy of an article" concept, since I think a person like Steve is worth a million trillion washed-up old TV stars with long, involved, painstakingly-footnoted wikipedia pages.

Thanks for listening!<3 NAMASTE PB57 (talk) 16:24, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
