The Reception section[edit]

The Reception section is nothing but weasel words. A reception section is allowed but should be a collection of the reviews not all the flashy words to help sell a film as per WP:MOSFILM.- McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 18:13, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have since removed it.- McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 18:22, 9 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
[1] It is not "weasel" words to quote what reviewers said about it. The start of the article now has those references at it, just no content to go along with them. Do they need to be there? Anyone got an opinion on having the reception section contain this again, instead of just the all knowing " Rotten Tomatoes" link and a single real review? It was created by Alex Gibney, who won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2007.[edit]

Why not mention who the guy is? This is a documentary of his, and he won the Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2007. Isn't that relevant? Dream Focus 19:59, 9 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not in an article about a film which didn't receive the award, if they are curious about the producer they can to his article, this is why we wiki link his name. - McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 00:23, 10 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I believe somewhere in the article it should be mentioned the documentary was created by someone who won an Academy Award for a previous documentary. Dream Focus 00:30, 10 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It is mentioned, in fact several times the article lists Gibney as the major contributor to the film. The awards he has won for previous works have no bearing on this film and only need be listed in his article, not this one. Please remember this article is not meant to promote this film, Wikipedia is not a platform to advertise. I am beginning to wonder if you may have a conflict of interest here as most edits you have done in this article has been very promotional in tone. At this point the article is doing quite well and since it was just released we will see if more comes of it.- McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 14:54, 10 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It is not promotional. I read about the film, checked Wikipedia for an article about it, and found none so I made one. I then quoted reviews in the Reception section, which is standard for any entertainment media. Thus the basics were done for it to pass the general notability guidelines.
