"Cowered on the Floor" - Really?[edit]

The previous version of our article, under the heading "Neighbors", said:

"The house adjoining Beck's home was mistakenly targeted by law enforcement officers, resulting in more than 100 rounds being fired into the structure. The residents, a married couple with their newborn infant, cowered on the bathroom floor during the barrage."

That struck me as both an unduly harsh description of what that family did, discretion being the greater part of valor, and a violation of our guideline WP:BLP.

So I changed "cowered" to "took shelter", which is both more descriptive of the action and not a puzzlingly pejorative description of a thoroughly understandable reaction to having over 100 bullets smack into your house one fine late August day. loupgarous (talk) 17:24, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
