So Noisy

Gasoline powered string trimmers are so noisy I belive they are a primary cause of noise pollution. Can this topic be addressed in the article? Thanks! ~ --Lbeaumont (talk) 17:12, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Vertical cutting on concrete not recommended?

Searching the web about this, every hit I get is either people saying they've been using a string trimmer for edging for years, or to be careful because it can kick up rocks. This article says it can cause damage due to water collecting in the groove. Can someone either put in a citation if it's true, or remove this reference if false? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.51.56.1 (talk) 12:36, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

A monoline isn't going to put a groove in concrete. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.42.22.222 (talk) 15:51, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

The history of the name "Whipper Snipper"

I was interested in this so I looked into it and it seems the name "Whipper Snipper" is a registered trademark of Black and Decker Corporation and that string or line trimmers where marketed under this name only in Australia. If anybody has evidence to contradict this, please feel free to make comments. Rasterops (talk) 08:31, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
