Thoughts on title/scope[edit]

The terms "Sunday reading periodical" or "Sunday periodical" are found in several sources, but they're far from universal. Another similar term is "improving magazines" (see e.g. [1]). Renaming the article to a descriptive title like "Religious periodicals in Victorian Britain" is another option, though the magazines that this is intended to cover are more like "quasi-religious". Source for expanding list[edit]

NB: Rosemary Scott's 1992 thesis has a huge appendix of Victorian "religious periodicals" (though some are noted as "likely to have been excluded from Sunday reading in stricter households"). Appendix A starting on page 254. At the very least, it's a useful source for filling in metadata for periodicals mentioned in other sources. Colin M (talk) 16:09, 17 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
