Untitled[edit]

"Monkey Ball" redirects to the "Super Monkey Ball" article when the two are actually different games. Monkey Ball is the arcade version (that has a lot of differences in it from the commerical releases of SMB. Someone with more talent should write up an article about the first Monkey Ball. 70.106.199.132 15:31, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wikibooks[edit]

Any help with the book for this game would be appreciated. Gerard Foley 22:18, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Release date[edit]

Wasn't this released a couple of days before the system? I remember seeing it in the stores a few days earlier. TJ Spyke 04:58, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

I rewrote the Main Game section; I think it's quite a bit better now, but I am totally open to input. I think it could use more links as they sort of die off after the first few sections. I haven't taken a look at the sequels section yet. I think the article could definitely use a section on the minigames/party games included on the disc. I'm also not sure how to cite this one; for the most part, all the information contained in it is simple factual information that could be attributed to the game itself. Anyway, it's a start. --llamapalooza87 (talk) 21:10, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Super Monkey Ball (series) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 05:00, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Reception" Expansion[edit]

The reception section has a tag that says it needs to be expanded. I added another grade given by a website, but feel like there isn't much more that could be included in that field. Does anyone thing the tag still belongs? It has been there for years. I personally think we can take it down now. Thoughts? Triforces (talk) 21:23, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'll be happy to take this one - will check it out, make any changes and add any comments over the next couple of days. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 23:17, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

The article could use one gameplay picture - I plan on uploading the first one from here soon, unless someone else finds an alternative they'd prefer. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 18:00, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Reception[edit]

I might just be slow, but the reception box shows 5 ratings from Nintendo Power, and 4 ratings from N-sider. I've never seen this before so the meaning of this wasn't clear to me - at first I thought they were rating different aspects of the game (graphics, gameplay, music, etc.), but looking at the N-sider review, I realized that they're different ratings from different reviewers. I think adding a footnote note to explain the multiple ratings would be nice, and I'll go ahead and do that myself soon if no one objects. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 18:00, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fine with both of your suggestions.TheTimesAreAChanging (talk) 00:54, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yoshi24517's suggestions[edit]

Hello! I love this game and decided to help. @SuperHamster: I know that it is your Good Article Review, so let me know if you want any of my comments on your reviews.

  • I've played the game in real life, so maybe you could add a detail describing that when the timer counts down to 10 seconds, it starts to say "Hurry Up." and the music dramatically changes.
  • Maybe add a little bit on how to get Play Points? It doesn't have to be a lot. Just maybe 1 or 2 sentences relating to it, and what they can be used for. It might be a good idea. Just saying.

Overall: I think this article should be promoted to Good Article status after these things I said are fixed. If SuperHamster agrees with me, then he can pass the article under GA status. Anyway, thanks for letting me input on your Good Article Review. Let me know if I'm mistaken on anything. Yoshi24517Chat Online 20:01, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Yoshi24517: Thanks for the input - always appreciated! I don't think the first bullet is of particular significance to justify mentioning. Play points, however, could be better explained, since right now they only have a brief mention at the beginning of the "Modes" section, without any clarification on how to get them. I'll see what changes I can do myself (unless someone else gets to it first). ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 20:09, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Final notes[edit]

Made some re-wordings and fixed some deal links, but otherwise, the article looks good!  Pass ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 17:03, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

First sega game on a Nintendo platform[edit]

This article claims SMB was the first Sega game published on a Nintendo platform. That is incorrect, that claim should be attributed to the Game Boy Advance port of ChuChu Rocket!. I need to find a source... TarkusABtalk 23:16, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
