Stolen Music[edit]

Character/mech descriptions[edit]

I added descriptions for those characters and mechs appearing on the Japanese wiki entry, while they may not be stated in English in the best way. Anyway, would it be a good idea to keep the minor characters, as well as characters and mecha that appear much later, out of the entry? I'm not quite sure on the normal guidelines for this. About the bugs[edit]

I translated three of the (currently) five bugs from the Japanese wiki entry. I only added the ones I verified I had understood correctly. One of them I couldn't read well enough to reproduce involves removing one of the Large Magazine parts and retaining its effects. The other one involves the battle with パルパレーパ from GaoGaiGar, which I don't have a save file near; apparently if some of the units intended to damage him during the event are not able to do so, his HP may end up being higher than intended, causing a freeze. Seishin Translation[edit]

I question whether all of the translations from the Original Generation games should necessarily be used here. "Valor" for 熱血 is not unreasonable, but the edit comment suggests "Zeal" would be used for 覚醒, which means "awakening". Atlus had a very limited space available for the names, so several such as this were intentionally changed because no English word short enough existed. (ひらめき "flash" to "Alert" was probably changed because of the possibility of an unfortunate misinterpretation.)

There are already several abilities in this game with no officially translated equivalent, so it will be impossible to use Atlus names for everything. Considering this, I think we should use the Atlus renderings where they are close to the original, but a correct translation of the word would be preferable where Atlus greatly deviated from its original meaning. Even if so, despite its being part of the same *franchise* as the translated games, there has been no official translation for *this game*. I believe the convention is to use the most commonly accepted translations, which clearly would not be those that result in conflicting translations where the literal name for one ability is given to one with a totally unrelated name.
