What is the legal reason it's always an American?[edit]

There's nothing in the original treaty that says that SACEUR must always be an American. Is there another document that dictates it must be so? What's the document/history for it? What's the selection process? It'd be nice if the article noted it. Fephisto (talk) 15:04, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
