Merge proposal[edit]

Beach casting seems to be an example of Surf fishing and should be merged --Geronimo20 (talk) 20:41, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

.[edit]

Surely the entire section Would be better called 'shore fishing' or 'beach fishing'. The term surf fishing applies particularly to fishing from a surf beach, ie. an unsheltered, shallow-sloping shoreline. 'Beach fishing' is the term in common use in the UK as an umbrella term to include fishing from piers. Is the same true of 'surf fishing' in the US?

Expert[edit]

So, until the red link above becomes blue, then it seems that not only does the article require attention from an experts, but marine biologists are needed to START a marine biology project.
Knowing why the fish caught are there at the shoreline, what numbers of each species can be expected to be found, where they are the rest of the time, etc, would not only be interesting but useful to fishermen.
