The image has been deleted today AGAINST the consensus reached on the nomination page above. I expressly protest against the deletion of this portrait photography of the composer. There is absolutely no legal copyright issue with this image, which is more than 100 years old. – Aklein62 (talk) 19:58, 4 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Class revision[edit]

Hello User:Aboutmovies, in December 2014 you rated this article as stub class. In the meantime, it has been considerably expanded and referenced, so I would like to ask you to review your rating. (I could change the rating myself, but since I am a key contributor, it may not be apprropriate). Thank you! Aklein62 (talk) 13:20, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Better. The main issue to get to C class is that the WP:LEDE is inadequate. Aboutmovies (talk) 03:34, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi User:Aboutmovies, thanks for the feedback. I've extended the lead section in response to your comment above. Will also add images soon, despite the demotivating experience described in a section above. I have more, which should not present any copyright issues. – Aklein62 (talk) 17:39, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

We do not need to call him Irish-American in the lead[edit]

We do not need to call him Irish-American in the lead. Using compound nationalities is discouraged in the lead to articles. We also have scrapped such as categories so we should really not use Irish-American at all, since it is ambiguous. We could call him an American of Irish descent in the lead, but we already have explanation of such in the body, I do not think it is needed in the lead.John Pack Lambert (talk) 13:16, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. "Irish-American" or "Irish American" is a well-established term used everywhere. It is not ambiguous either: the meaning (an American of Irish ancestry) is very clear. And to this person, like to many others, it was an important marker of identity. Aklein62 (talk) 13:22, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
