Indented line Agreed, as "U.S. snusking" doesn't even seem to be a legitimate appellation.

Krueger era[edit]

This article has practically nothing on what is, by far, the most important part of the Swedish Match story. That is, the Krueger era when this was one of the most rapacious multinational corporations in the world. The lessons for today are many. Removed contentious material[edit]

I have updated key figures and other basic facts about the company.

While doing so, I noticed the "Controversies" topic that was added anonymously on 1 September 2020 regarding an issue involving the Maltese politician John Dalli. Only the first sentence had a source reference, and the source in question was a press release by the European Commission, which makes it non-independent relative to the topic.

Reading the John Dalli article and its talk page, it is clear that several topics related to Dalli are highly contentious, not least the one that was the focus of the recent addition to the Swedish Match article. In line with the principle that "contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced should be removed immediately and without discussion" (see WP:BLPRS), I have deleted the topic in question.

It is also worth mentioning that the topic seems to be rather peripheral with regard to Swedish Match, as neither the single source cited by the deleted text, nor the treatment of the same topic in the John Dalli article, seems to indicate any active involvement by the company beyond the reporting of a suspected corruption scheme to the European Commission. --OttoG (talk) 23:12, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
