Previous film versions?[edit]

"It is the third filmatisation of 'Amy Foster'." -- I can easily believe this, but IMDB for one doesn't list any previous film versions of this work. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0175676/ Anybody have a source? -- 201.50.123.251 14:06, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Main character[edit]

The main character was told to be Ukrainian - with name Yanko Well cannot find a real good source but you can find it by googling...anyway thing should be examined —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.129.242.88 (talk) 00:15, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here: http://www.eastoftheweb.com/short-stories/UBooks/AmyFost.shtml there is a full story...nothing about Russians,Ukrainians,Polish Condrad was of Polish origin so could be he wrote about someone from his country...also Gooral means mountainer in Polish, acctualy don't know how is it in Russian but there is no such word in Ukrainian...suppose in Russian neither. The thing is once again that in the movie Yankoo speaks Russian or Ukrainia,...don't remember.

The best is that he was from eastern europe etc. or use quotation from the novel. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.129.242.88 (talk) 00:34, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
