While working on disambiging the links to this page, there were only a tiny fraction of the 1000+ links to the word 'Swiss' that were not intended for 'Switzerland'. So, rather than having a 1000 links that intended for one page point to a disambig, the redirection seems appropriate....especially since there is already a 'Swiss (disambiguation)' page. -Gwguffey (talk) 19:36, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why would anyone looking for Switzerland type in Swiss? Swiss should redirect to Swiss people. McLerristarr (Mclay1) (talk) 09:33, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
mmm I'm really not convinced that Swiss people is the primary topic. "Swiss" is mostly used as an adjective and so should remain a redirect to Switzerland. mgeo talk 10:52, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If someone wanted to find out about Switzerland, they'd type in "Switzerland". If someone wanted to find out about something Swiss, it wouldn't be the country, it would be the Swiss or a non-existent language called Swiss or something else Swiss. I don't see why Swiss can't just stay a dab page. McLerristarr (Mclay1) (talk) 13:19, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
