Nazi gold[edit]

The SNB is treated on the page "Nazi gold" but there was no mention of the controversy here. I added some of that information here under a section on "WWII controversy" as it is quite notable. The Bergier Commission study is an authoritative source on the subject (Independent Swiss Commission of Experts) and is cited. 94.223.174.232 (talk) 20:12, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I've added a template flagging this article as using language which reads like an advertisement. Please if you wish to remove that template, first read WP:NPOV. Consider:

  • "it creates an appropriate environment for economic growth"
  • "banknotes that meet high standards with respect to quality and security"
  • "The National Bank manages currency reserves [which] engender confidence in the Swiss franc"
  • "contributes to the stability of the financial system"

Any of these claims (currently made in the article) could be flagged with a "citation needed" tag. It's enough to make a casual reader wonder if the text was taken from promotional material authored by the bank...? (sdsds - talk) 07:46, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Shares as consols[edit]

In The strange mania for Swiss National Bank shares, it explains that the bank shares have special properties so that they work as a perpetual bond, a consol (bond), guaranteed by the Swiss government. That explains their rise since the SNB has lowered the interest rate of its bonds. If somebody could find proper sources and explain it clearly, it would be a good addition to the article. --Error (talk) 12:15, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
