Apparent conflict of interest[edit]

Much of the content in this article was added by the single-purpose 98.221.164.15 (talk · contribs), who signed many of their edit summaries as 'Syukuro Manabe'. That IP geo-locates to Princeton, NJ, where he works. Later edits used the (again single-purpose) account Syuku Manabe (talk · contribs). It appears highly likely that both users have a serious conflict of interest. I've tagged the article, which probably needs a major rewrite. Modest Genius talk 17:04, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think the article complies with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly neutral point of view. Grimes2 (talk) 17:54, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think anyone can maintain NPOV while writing about themselves, see WP:AUTOBIO. Even if the prose was entirely neutral, it creates the impression of a POV. Although the article has been substantially revised in the last 24 hours, the 'scientific achievements' and 'selected publications' sections were mostly written by those potential-COI users. I looked at the sci ach section and it is fine, although one might change the section name and/or fold it into "career". Sel pub is always a bit difficult, "selected by who" being the obvious question, but they too seem reasonable William M. Connolley (talk) 14:50, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
