Another picture[edit]

Current photo has a bad quality and it is from his grave. It is much better to have his "real life" photo. I would do it myself, but I don't understand copy-right stuff. Nochyyy (talk) 15:43, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's not from the grave. --CiaPan (talk) 20:40, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
There is a lot of his real pictures, I believe it is better to use them, we can include current photo as an extra image in the text. If you could do it, I would be grateful. I mean pictures like this: [1], [2] and [3]. There is only one issue of copy-right. Nochyyy (talk) 07:01, 3 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Nochyyy: Yes, I realize there are portraits of T.Banachiewicz in the Internet. I know many of them. However there is an important problem: they are not clearly copyright-free. Some of them are still under copyright protection, many have copyright status undefined or unclear, and we are not allowed to use them.
That was also the case with 'File:Tadeusz Banachiewicz.jpg' which once was in the article – see the note above (the note was here until you deleted it, now I restored it) and a relevant discussion at Commons (c:Commons:Deletion requests/File:Tadeusz Banachiewicz.jpg). --CiaPan (talk) 07:25, 3 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I see you are polish and many of this pictures come from polish sources, one of them is this paper [4] which claims that these photos are from "Private collection of Jerzy M. Kreiner; published, respectively, in: Zawada 2004, p. 23; Strzałkowski 2012, p. 2; Koroński 2015, p. 21)". So, if you can email these people or Krakow university and ask for the permission of using these pictures on his Wikipedia page, that would be great, they should be collaborative.
