Missing episode and other details[edit]

Starting some work to complete this article:

  • Arranged existing episodes into film order.
  • Mentioned the recurring end theme in each existing episode entry (in subtitles of the film "Legend has it that ...") "Legend tells us " (here following the existing example) that states something as "legend" that is possibly real or intentionally ironic, but "legend" because officially no such thing could have happened during, or even after in one case, the "Golden Age".
  • Added stub entry for Legend of the Zealous Activist (3rd episode of six)

Notable (?) Names mentioned in Legend of the Zealous Activist.[edit]

Four names are mentioned by Comrade Secretary Stoenescu at the county party meeting: Ciupercescu, Vladeanu, Boeriu, Mintoc. (as rendered in the English sub-titles) Does anyone know more about these names and why they were used here?

I have had little success in discovering who the mentioned people are or might be, leaving me wondering if they are:

  • made up, possibly with a definite joke in mind
  • sly references to notorious party hacks or other prominent non-entities
  • personal friends or associates of the production team (inside joke?)
  • just hard to find on the internet.
  • a mix of the above

I found a strong candidate for Boeriu as genuine notable, Eta Boeriu who has a article in Wikipedia now. If that connection is right, then the county is Cluj County.

I found plausible candidate for Vladeanu, a painter Emilia Valdeanu whose work looks respectable and displayed in a video on YouTube.

For Ciupercescu I found only an actor, Cornel Ciupercescu with no biographical detail and not in this movie. He worked with the Cristian Mungiu who is listed as sole writing credit for Tales from the Golden Age in Train de Vie where Mungiu was an assistant director. Suggests possible inside joke.

Found nothing pertinent for Mintoc unless a reference to a video game is pertinent.
