Move[edit]

Shouldn't this page be called "Tama Drums"?

"Tama Drums" redirects to this page. It is as it should be. Rei23 16:40, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved the article to Tama Drums. This is the only name they're ever called. Seisakusho (which translates roughly to "factory") has not been used since 1981 when the parent company (Hoshino Gakki) changed the name to Hoshino Gakki Mfg. Co., Ltd., which has since manufactured and marketed its drums under the simple Tama name.—Lazytiger (Talk | contribs) 20:33, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Imperialstar[edit]

Imperialstar is not replacing the swingstar or the stagestar. While the swingstar and the stagestar may be taken out of production, and the imperialstar will take their place as the entry level tama drum, this is only a factor of Tama rotating the lines in and out of production. For instance, the superstar, crestar and rockstar were all aimed at the same mid-level market, but the shells were completely different. The superstar was discontinued and the rockstar went in to production, but eventually the superstar went back into production and the rockstar went out of production.

Swingstar are mahogany drums, stagestar are smaller 'bop sized' or 'kid sized' mahogany drums and imperialstars are poplar drums. Likely that after the swingstar is out of production for a while, the stagestar will come back into production with a poplar shell.

Picture[edit]

http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1548265 gcdrummer posted a picture of a tama drum specifically for use on this page. If someone can figure out how to place it on the page and not have the picture taken down, then that would be great. Rei23 23:17, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

This article needs to be deleted. It is an advertisement. No third party references nor is it notable-other than a well-known drum maker. Regards GetAgrippa (talk) 22:48, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

——14 Feb 2021 That this page is an advertisement is an opinion. In its current form it appears to be primarily historical and information focused, with company goals of quality and product ranking stated as historical reasons for changes. Please remove this maintenance issue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:441:8580:190:A08E:8804:92E0:7DE (talk) 18:06, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
