Normal Elevation?[edit]

Look, it's probably just me missing something, but why is the reservoir listed as "Normal elevation 544 metres (1,785 ft) AHD", whereas the dam is listed as "Elevation at crest 1,230 metres (4,040 ft) AHD" and "Height 45.1 metres (148 ft)" (the surrounding ground is over 1200m, making the first figure seem a bit strange)? Is it possible that the normal elevation has been inadvertently transferred from the nearby Talbingo reservoir (it looks about right for that)? Otherwise, it makes it rather hard to understand how the Snowy 2.0 pumped hydro scheme would work. Or maybe "Normal elevation" is a technical term having some abstruse defintion I don't understand (despite searching, I haven't been able to find one). Urilarim (talk) 02:08, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
