This program is widely used in thousands of schools. I found many schools talking about it on their websites. The founder meets WP:PROF. The acct is named for the publisher of some of the materials so they have a WP:COI but given how many teachers, students and parents are likely to encounter this long running program, this is a notable topic. This sounds like it comes straight out of marketing brochures[edit]

This does not sound at all like an encyclopedia article. It sounds like it comes from company literature or the company website. 2600:1003:B03F:2E7F:F16F:DD9A:F9AC:1BA7 (talk) 21:58, 7 March 2022 (UTC) [Formerly user ileanadu, who hasn't been able to log on for over a year.][reply]

while the article does have a short mention of a significant revamping to include phonics, there is no real explanation or history of why this took place, nor is there any mention of opposition to the program, e.g., https://reason.com/video/2023/01/25/why-did-schools-stop-teaching-kids-how-to-read-live-with-robert-pondiscio-nick-gillespie-and-zach-weissmueller/?utm_medium=emailm, https://www.apmreports.org/episode/2020/01/27/lucy-calkins-reading-materials-review, https://www.forbes.com/sites/nataliewexler/2021/11/21/problems-with-lucy-calkins-curriculum-go-beyond-reading-to-writing/?sh=32bea9be50c9, https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/21/us/lucy-calkins-race-gender-curriculum.html, https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/22/us/reading-teaching-curriculum-phonics.html

The article should mention the abject failure of this pseudo-intellectual hogwash, demonstrated by the dismal performance of NYC public schools. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.234.219.162 (talk) 20:21, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
