They don't, which is why this was tagged for deletion. As the article stands it just sounds like advertising for the website. DarkSaber2k 09:55, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Read again? This is part of the history of Tibet. It is no longer a history of kings and wars, or always of lamas and tulkus. The stage of action has turned to the current ways of the world: public actions, internet discussion, ngos. I don't want to start a rant situation in the article  :) still trying to make the point. Perhaps a little background on Tibetan situation would help clarify? follow the links given? Thanks for your interest, didn't expect such a fast response! Avaarga 09:59, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think using terms like 'stage of action' to refer to a wikipedia article is a bad idea. It makes it sound like it's being used for political reasons, and Wikipedia is not a soapbox. The article fails to state what is notable about Team Tibet, and does not provide reliable secondary sources to allow people to verify those facts. DarkSaber2k 10:02, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"using terms like 'stage of action' to refer to a wikipedia article " OK - sure, i certainly want to avoid that. Can we take "stage of action" as it was meant, a more general term. That is the tricky bit of Tibet-in-exile's position itself! There are many other articles on Tibet on Wikipedia, including articles about other Tibet support organisations. Team Tibet is notable as one of many activities and organisations around the world which is trying to solve problems in a peaceful manner, with communication. (In particular the wikipedia article "Tibet" may be helpful for background.) The links given explain these issues. I can certainly write up something more explanatory pointing to these and other references. Trouble is, I have to go back to work - hoping deletion can be postponed until i can get back to this. All suggestions on how to make this relevant are appreciated! Avaarga 10:10, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to me that this article has a bit of pro-Tibet bias. I agree with DarkSaber2k, it reads more as a political statement then an encyclopedia article.

Agreed, a particular agenda is presented here, so I've tagged the page with a NPOV tag. Paulbrock 15:50, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that this page is an advertisement for something, rather than an encyclopedia article. Socio-quackery is used, "...1200 year history", as if the "article" is trying to persuade, rather than inform. Benlisquare (talk) 05:48, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article was originally copy-pasted from the org's website. I've rewrote the article according to wikipedia guidelines, and there shouldn't be any problems now.--PCPP (talk) 15:57, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal for deletion[edit]

A proposal that this article should be deleted has been made on the basis of "Notability: Group's website no longer exists". I do not see this as a valid ground for deletion. The article recorded a historical event, and discussions regarding notability should be framed around whether the event itself was notable. AndyTheGrump (talk) 16:49, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
