tert is a latin and so shouldn't be capitalised (in written text it should be italicised like n-, sec-, ~~iso~~ etc), but might be worth putting a re-direct from that page Seansheep (talk) 19:04, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Available as solutions of ethers?[edit]

I've edited this before, then reverted because I wasn't sure; the end of the article says "This compound and other alkyllithium compounds are known to be unstable in ether solvents", but the intro reads "tert-Butyllithium is readily available commercially as solutions of ethers or hydrocarbons". Systematic name[edit]

I believe the systematic name of this compound is (1,1-dimethylethyl)lithium, but I'm no chemist so I'll leave this here rather than edit it into the article.
