show song title?[edit]

Does anyone know what the name and artist information is for the theme song? The one that starts, "The Hill Country, the Hill Country of Texas?" I tried the official website, but it doesn't say. IMDB doesn't even have a record of the series. Googling the lyrics that I remembered came up blank. Thanks. --Markzero 01:47, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

--ANSWER--- The title song is "The Texas Hill Country Theme" from something called "Lyndon Johnson Theme". Written by Glenn Paxton. The music was on an record album called "The Pops Goes West"-Boston Pops & Arthur Fielder pressed in 1968, RCA Victor Records-RED SEAL, STEREO LSC-3008.

Willie Nelson recorded a version of the theme with lyrics on his 1968 album. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.57.52.158 (talk) 01:25, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do we really need the list of "notable" TCR pieces? (or whatever that list was titled)[edit]

It seems to me that the list should be removed in its entirety unless there are references to back up the claims that a given profile was deemed notable — as in, not just a reference that shows that some local newspaper printed that a favorite son had been profiled, not just references that show the subject of the profile is notable, but rather, references that demonstrate the profile or segment itself was deemed significant. For comparison purposes, think of Barbara Walters or Oprah Winfrey; among the hundreds or thousands of interviews and profiles they've done with famous people, certain interviews or profiles are recognized as standing out, such as the (perhaps apocryphal) story of Walters asking someone "what kind of tree would you be?" or getting a known stoneface to open up and even cry, or in the case of Oprah, the Tom Cruise interview where he jumped on a couch or the interview with James Frey in which she confronted him about factual problems with the book she had endorsed. I don't have time to be bold right now, but I wanted to raise the issue. Lawikitejana (talk) 21:06, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
