Name of the article[edit]

Thai Binh should be refered to Thai Binh Province, not Thai Binh City, a district in Thai Binh. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.205.97.139 (talk) 17:27, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article refers, as the title says, to Thai Bin City. I found the coordinates on a gps web site and the GPS is officially N 20° 26' 46.7952", E 106° 20' 11.6232. I hope that this helps out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anyse (talk • contribs) 16:58, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My home town is Thai Binh city and I’m happy to describe it to you today! Overview Thai Binh is a city which locates on north side of Viet Nam. It’s one of six city on northern coastal. 110km far away from Ha Noi, Thai Binh has good traffic routes with other city: Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, and directly connect to 10th highway. Thai Binh was upgraded from Town to City on 30th June, 2004. Geography • Location: Thai Binh city locate on center of the province. It’s next to Kien Xuong at the East side and next to Vu Thu at the West side. It’s 110km far away from Ha Noi to the Southeast, 60km from Hai Phong and 19km from Nam Dinh. • Rivers: Tra Ly River through the center of the city, Kien Giang River on the South, and Vinh Tra River. • Terrain, climate: Thai Binh city has flat terrain, 2.6m high from sea. The land formation of sand and alluvial, very good for rice and crops. It’s also has stable geology, good for construction. In tropical monsoon area, Thai Binh has two seasons: rainy season with rainy days from April to October, all time left is dry. The average temperature is 23oC, average rainfall is 1500mm – 1900mm, humidity about 70% - 90%. And it has about 1800 hours per year with sunshine. Area and population • Area 6.768,9 ha. • Population 186.000 people (2010) Administration It’s has 19 administrative units • 10 wards: Bo Xuyen, Phu Khanh, Ky Ba Tien Phong, Quang Trung, Tran Lam, Le Hong Phong, De Tham, Tran Hung Dao, Hoang Dieu • 9 villages: Dong Hoa, Vu Chinh, Vu Phuc, Phu Xuan, Tan Binh, Vu Dong, Vu Lac, Dong Tho, Dong My History • Original name and area of Thai Binh is Bo Hai Khau. It’s a sea port owned by Tran Lam, one of twelve warlords in 10th century. In 1030, the King Ly Thai Tong tried to plowing here. • In next time, alluvial sedimentation makes Bo Hai Khau larger to become Bo Hai Khau Village. When Thai Binh province created in 1890, Bo Hai Khau was chosen to become the center and changed name to Thai Binh. • In 1894, civil and military governor of French Indochina named Jean-Marie de Lanessan was decisions to establishment Thai Binh town. • On 4th February 1895, Ky Ba, Bo Xuyen village was merged into Thai Binh town. Economy • Thai Binh is a city which in northern key economic area. Economic structure in 2010: o Agriculture and Forestry : 1.67% o Industry and Construction: 59.93% o Trade and Services: 38.4%. • Typical products of Thai Binh are: clothes, mechanical, bamboo crafts, food, wood… • In 2010, total industrial income value about 6500 billion VND. It’s up to 38% of total income value of the province. Total export value is 200 million USD. They have a new bridge project on Tra Ly river to make a directly connect from Dong My – Hoang Dieu to Vu Lac – Vu Dong. They also have a high way project, make new connection to 10th high way; Inside of the city, they planting new trees, build new tower and park to make the city very beautiful. They are trying to make Thai Binh become 2nd type city. Ky Ba on 72.000 m2 area Cultural and sports • Thai Binh is famous with Cheo art. They have Cheo theatre, Cai Luong theatre, museum, Expo center, science library of the province. • Thai Binh’s museum is one of the biggest museums in Viet Nam. There is having too many antiques, which was found in Thai Binh, with thousand years old. They also have new items as Tank of Bui Quang Than, airplane of Pham Tuan. • Global library was built in 1955, keeping up over 155 thousand of books and documents. • They are building new province sports complex with stadium which can store 25.000 people, pools… • Thai Binh famous for volleyball. The team became the champion in 2007, 2008 and 1010. Some other kinds of sport don’t have good achievement because they don’t have enough interest. Traffic Thai Binh has good traffic with other city on land and rivers. They have many high way and few of them connect directly with 10th High Way. Some new way project is planned or deployed to make the traffic better day by day. Inside of the city, you can easy to find many bus routes to serve travel demand. There is a mistake at title[edit]

Hi Moderators, I think there is a problem with the title of this page. Most of people think that Thái Bình means a province, not a city. So, please change this title to Thai Binh City.
