Changing the format[edit]

Thank You for Being a Friend" is a popular song written by Andrew Gold. He recorded it for his third album, All This and Heaven Too, and the single version reached number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1978. the first sentance is a opinion. I am changing it.--Kopicz (talk) 00:37, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Featured on the notorious Wearside Jack/Yorkshire Ripper serial killer hoax tape[edit]

In Britain the Golden Girls theme version is the better known one (the series was shown on Channel 4 there). The Andrew Gold version meanwhile (reaching only 42 there) is probably best known due to the hoaxer dubbed from his Geordie accent "Wearside Jack" (later unmasked) including the song on the taunting cassette tape which he anonymously sent to police, and which they then believed to have come from the real attacker (they then dismissing any suspect who didn't have that accent - thereby allowing the real attacker with his Yorkshire accent to escape detection and continue the spree). The related Wiki page on that topic does reference the song - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wearside_Jack#Message — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr gobrien (talkcontribs) 20:59, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
