[Untitled][edit]

I started this article after a friend found an old newspaper referencing the Edinburgh branch of the Association of Women with Large Feet, but the more I have read as I put this piece together, the more I realise there is to say about the relationship between this association (and any others like it) and post-war austerity. I've come across a few more recent pieces making the same connections between austerity and manufacturers scaling back provision for sizes at the extreme ends of the spectrum (large and petite). Obviously Wikipedia isn't the place for original research, but I'm noting this year because I think it might help to better link this article to other topics and articles in the future, as well as perhaps help to flesh it out further.

Links and founder's name[edit]

Three of the references (Times and DMdon't work for me - they redirect to Edinburgh University pages.

Also, the reference to the Townsville Daily Bulletin says that the founder's name is D Gavin, not Phyllis Crone.
