"References"[edit]

The #3 reference of "The Benny Hill Show" is wrong.

It should be "Benny Hill's World Tour: New York!" since that is the entry at IMdB where the link takes you.

The link is correct, just not the title/name.

Is there anyway that can be corrected?

Just curious. 2600:8800:785:1300:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 18:39, 6 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Was this originally shown in the UK as one-off specials?[edit]

I read something in the IMDB about the Benny Hill Show actually being originally broadcast in the UK as a series of specials (NOT scheduled each week) similar to the Bob Hope specials in the USA. The half-hour episodes actually being the version specifically sold into syndication for the US market. Can this be confirmed?--Msr69er (talk) 14:26, 17 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

enduring legacy[edit]

little effect on USA but given length of broadcast in UK there ought to have been a lot... especially in context of political scandals, changing culture, feminism, shifts in television viewing, et al

example: Hugh Grant trolled Boris Johnson on 07JUL2022

"Hugh Grant encouraged British demonstrators to blast 'Benny Hill' theme song -- and they did"

rumored scandals[edit]

Howard from NYC (talk) 07:27, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

as best as I can recall there were lots of rumors about inappropriate 'handling' of female dancers... not just by Benny Hill but by many of the production crew... supposedly during filming to adjust for sightlines... anyone have a clue where to start looking for reliable sourcing on this topic?
