Mule Skinner Blues[edit]

I'm surprised that Parton didn't get a writing credit on "Mule Skinner Blues" - it is obvious looking at the lyrics that she (or someone) heavily rewrote the song with lots of new lyrics. I just wrote a Wikipedia article on George Vaughn Horton - he rewrote the song for Bill Monroe in 1950, and it seems like he has been credited ever since with co-writing the song with Jimmie Rodgers. I'm not sure whether that was justified, or whether lazy record producers just stuck his name on it because they didn't bother to figure out whose words were being used.Brianyoumans (talk) 16:11, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
