minor edit[edit]

i took out " If you'd like to reserve one in advance, e-mail here: zammuto@thebooksmusic.com" from the 'other works' section, sounded more like an advert than an article

Removing dead link[edit]

This link is broken: http://lastvisibledog.org/blog/2006/06/25/nick-zammuto/. If anyone has an updated link to the article on Nick Zammuto's sound sculptures, please add it! Eeblet (talk) 05:34, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Album (2009)[edit]

I'm happy to hear there's a new album but could whoever wrote that please cite their source?--Gcilley (talk) 23:56, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Major edit, June 2009.[edit]

I've tried to renovate this article, adding a brief history of the band and outlining their musical style, as well as citing sources, including one about the new album. I also deleted the sections on Other works and Appearances in popular culture. These are a little trivial, and Other works can be placed in the respective band members' own wiki articles, which I hope will be made at some stage. Just letting you all know what was being done. I think it's a lot better now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Michaelterren (talkcontribs) 07:24, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A history diff link, for anyone else curious. Great work Michaelterren. As a fan and as an editor, Thankyou :) (i am going to replace a few links though, especially with the trimmed 'works' section ;) -- Quiddity (talk) 09:11, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Aleatoric?[edit]

There seems to be dispute on how aleatoric The Books really are, so I thought I'd make this place the place to discuss people's views. I find The Books not to be aleatoric, simply because Nick Zammuto says he doesn't think it is. Whether that overrides the fact that the samples seem aleatorically put together is worth discussion though. Your thoughts please.Michaelterren (talk) 23:38, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think that in general their music seems aleatoric. I don't think that it necessarily is -- in fact, I think it decidedly is not. The songs are very clearly orchestrated -- but to the listener that may not seem the case. (There's also the song of theirs that repeats said word.) +Justin (Jldb) 21:19, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
