Someone removed my edits without explaining[edit]

And claimed they were NPOV without explaining why. I simply added links to what is mentioned in this article. Also corrected an incorrect characterization of the blog - who is this person? this is what they wrote on my talk page- Shouldn't this discussion go on the talk page for the article?

Awards[edit]

I was going to add the awards Reveal / CIR have received to the awards section, but then I actually saw the awards they've received and I had no idea they've been around since the 1970s. Obviously, if I list them all on here they'll be removed within 24 hours probably, so I think perhaps a link to a 'Main article: List of CIR / Reveal News awards' would be pertinent. Specific text to be added or removed: Sumi Aggarwal is Editor in Chief. She joined CIR in 2019 as Director of Collaborations and later served as Interim Editor in Chief and Managing Editor. Aggarwal is a veteran journalist who previously worked as a producer at 60 Minutes and The Today Show. She launched the broadcast journalism program at the City College of New York and led executive communications at Google. She has received numerous journalism awards, including the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, several News Emmys, and an Edward R. Murrow Award. She holds a BA from UC Berkeley and an MS from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
Reason for the change: Aggarwal left CIR in September 2022.

Specific text to be added or removed: Annie Chabel, the Chief Operations Officer, has worked at CIR since 2013. During her tenure, she has served as Director of Philanthropic Partnerships and as Interim CEO. Previously, she worked as Grants Manager at the Bay Area Video Coalition, a nonprofit media arts center.
Reason for the change: Chabel left CIR in August 2022.

Excess biographical information in Present section[edit]

It seems out of place for so much of this section to be devoted to biographies of particular people, namely Kaizar Campwala and Sumi Aggarwal. The additional sentences regarding Campwala currently comprise 36% of the section text, and those beyond the first two sentences regarding Aggarwal comprise 26%. And while it’s smaller, it seems the “previously” section of Chabel’s biography is also unnecessary.

I've separately noted as proposed edits that Aggarwal and Chabel be removed from this section because they no longer work for the organization. Spida-tarbell (talk) 01:06, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with Mother Jones?[edit]

I'd like us to consider merging this article with Mother Jones (magazine). Why? (1) This organization (the Center for Investigative Reporting) hasn't branded itself under that name for years. For years, they have been branding themselves as Reveal (podcast). In other words, there is no longer a URL for the Center. (2) Mother Jones and the Center (or Reveal) have merged as of February 2024, and since it is the senior editorial leaders/CEO type people of MJ who are the senior leaders/CEO types of the new entity, it would seem that the Center/Reveal as the junior players in this acquisition and essentially it has all folded into Mother Jones.
