Color for exile.[edit]

I think that we should stick with the dark grey background as for when someone/a team is eliminated, because it would look very weird for it to be black. My thinking is that we make the time period in which a team is in exile, a light yellow, (RGB: 255,243,128) or #FFF380 after the "OUT" box on the team's progress. Merge the cells depending on how long their in exile, have those boxes say "EXILE" and then dark grey cells after they're gone.

For example:

The team won in the Dome.
The team lost in the Dome and was sent to Ex-ile.
The player/team was removed from the competition due to illness.
The team won the Ex-iled match, and remained in Ex-ile.
The team lost the Ex-iled match, and was permanently eliminated from the game.

Elimination Progress[edit]

I think it's best if we leave the elimination chart, as the player with the salmon OUT, and then the light-yellow cells with EX-ILE. Compared to the other version with the orange, then yellow cells that both say exile, it's confusing and seems as if there is a team that loses the first exile they're in, there is no exile cells, which makes it seem as if they were never in exile. Bbfan23 (talk) 21:24, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The colors in the elimination chart are fine the way they are. Prior to Episode 3, we don't know if a Dome or EX-ile is cancelled as a result of CT & Diem's withdrawal from the competition. IF a Dome or EX-ile is cancelled as a result of a team quitting or withdrawing due to illness or injury, "wheat" would be the best color in that scenario; otherwise, just plain "yellow" is what will be used for teams that won an EX-ile and remained in the competition. DPH1110 (talk) 07:52, 19 January 2015 (UTC)DPH1110[reply]
The issue is that it looks more confusing to the normal eye. For someone who doesn't watch this show and happens to end up on this page, they'll be confused looking at the current chart. It looks like Dustin & Jessica have been in ex-ile the whole time, and as Thomas & Hailey were never in ex-ile. I think it's best if we go back to the way it was. Also, they won't just cancel an elimination, the episode of someone leaves the show (CT & Diem)... If so, they'll do some twist where they have to earn no elimination, or they'll do it in a future episode. Bbfan23 (talk) 13:28, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the previous layout was much better. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 13:35, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Do we really need to put the exile business in the Dome Progress chart? I feel like the table above it is fine enough as it is, and so far no matter how the Exile info is presented in the dome chart, it just looks sloppy and weird. Why not do it like Survivor does their voting history when a season has Redemption Island in play? When a team loses in the Dome they're just out with the red cell, and then nothing but the gray bar following and then when a team re-enters, they just get bumped back in. Like how voter "Ozzy's" progress is displayed on the voting history here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivor:_South_Pacific#Voting_history 71.104.224.165 (talk) 04:35, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As exile is apart of this season, and a big part, I think it's best if we show that they're in ex-ile instead of just seeing light grey columns. It's fine as it is. Bbfan23 (talk) 12:35, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well Redemption Island was a big part of the seasons it was featured in on Survivor, and duels actually made it onto the show and weren't just online clips. If debate continues I still say looking at and following the Survivor Voting History is a viable option 71.104.224.165 (talk) 18:23, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This is the Challenge, not Survivor. Yes, I get what you are saying how it needs to be like the Survivor charts with seasons that have Redemption Island, but this is a different show. We need to keep this chart like the other seasons as this is another Challenge season. To DPH1110, I've already added something on your talk page, but your chart is too confusing. Keep the table as is.Bbfan23 (talk) 20:43, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
KISS MY ASS Bbfan23!!!! DPH1110 (talk) 21:20, 21 January 2015 (UTC)DPH1110[reply]
Just wondering why is my chart so confusing? I think we should take a vote, instead of us going back and forth. Bbfan23 (talk) 01:51, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
DPH1110, please be civil, you can't say things like that to other editors. As for this discussion, I completely agree with Bbfan23's chart, the chart that is being used currently is confusing with all the other colours and just gives me a headache to look at. Bbfan's chart is way more practical, less confusing, and easy to look at. But both of you should watch out to make sure you aren't edit warring. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 13:22, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Jjj1238, and yes, I've reported this to admins, and we were both warned. I would like to switch it back, but am waiting for the admins permission. Bbfan23 (talk) 03:45, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I for one just think that the merged cells in the table look sloppy and weird 71.104.224.165 (talk) 02:58, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I understand others opinions, but it is the most efficient to make this chart with Ex-ile. Having multiple cells that say EX-ILE is not necessarily needed, and is inefficient. Bbfan23 (talk) 03:05, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I like the idea of doing two different sections better than Bbfan23's idea. There should be one for Dome progress, one for Ex-ile progress. You should move the Ex-ile elimination chart table down with the Ex-ile progress table and make an entire section for Battle of the Ex-iled. It's just as efficient and Bbfan23's table looks terrible, IMO. We have never done merged cells on any other Challenge page, so I don't see why we feel the need to do it now this season just because of the Ex-ile twist. Also the Ex-ile progress table looks really bad, too. If we MUST do it the way BBfan's way, then can we please get someone else to make it look presentable? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aspiring816 (talkcontribs) 03:25, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not saying you MUST use my version, but multiple cells of the same thing for something that DOESN'T need multiple cells, is useless. But I do agree, we need to find another way, to make a chart whilst compromising ALL THREE of the charts we have used. Bbfan23 (talk) 03:43, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
But we've used multiple cells before. I mean, why not just merge the white cells labeled "SAFE" then? I don't want to seem argumentative but I just don't like the way the page looks now. We all need to come to a decision on what looks best because we keep screwing up each other's edits. Also if I'm being perfectly honestly, I don't like that light yellow color either. I don't like the idea of using color code when we have, like, fifty other web colors to use from. Like, what's wrong with the orange that we've used for the Exile in Fresh Meat 1 or maybe a cyan color or if we have to go with a light yellow, why not "khaki" or "lemonchiffon"? Aspiring816 (talk) 03:55, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I did change the exile color, to something easier, khaki. And also, on Survivor, or Big Brother for that matter, they always merge cells when on redemption island, and when someone is evicted on BB, and comes back, they merge the cells. It's easier to understand that when it's khaki, they are in exile, when it's grey, then they're out. Whereas, your version is, yellow means this, orange means that, red means this, and it just becomes too much, rather than just using 1 merged cell, with one meaning. Sorry, not trying to be mean at all. Bbfan23 (talk) 04:12, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I can understand that, but if that's the case, why do we even need the "khaki" color then? On Big Brother, their color for eliminated players is salmon, and they keep it that way even when a player returns to the game. See Big Brother 3, 6, 9, 13, 15, and 16. For Survivor with Redemption Island returnees, they keep it "darkgray". They're out of the main game. So instead of "khaki", why don't we just keep it "darkgray" and keep the players in the order they lost the Dome and then make a separate section for all of the Battle of the Ex-iled information? In Survivor, they keep the players in the order they were eliminated by vote, not by duel losses. So, it's probably better to just make a separate section since we're doing that anyway. I say this because your method looks extremely weird. And yeah, maybe my way was weird-looking too, but there's just something about your table that throws the balance off. Aspiring816 (talk) 05:50, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ex-ile progress table?[edit]

Though we already have a "Dome progress" sub-section, I'm fluctuating as to whether or not to add a separate "Ex-ile progress" table (just like the aforementioned "Dome progress" table), for Ex-iled contestants. I'm debating whether to add one now (prior to Episode 5) or just wait until the end of the season and just utilize the current "Dome progress" table. DPH1110 (talk) 20:48, 1 February 2015 (UTC)DPH1110[reply]

I'm glad you brought this up. I was thinking of doing this too. I'll make one, and if you don't like it, it can be deleted. Bbfan23 (talk) 02:18, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Separate section for Battle of the Ex-iled[edit]

I did a mock-up of how I think the page should look. My argument for why I think the Dome progress should be in order is because the current table looks all over the place. While it is accurate, I just feel like if you're gonna do it that way, then maybe take out OUT (salmon) and put it at the end of the EX-ILE, because it throws off the entire look in the current way.

We've already got four tables already on the page, so it's not like this is taking up space. The current way the "Dome progress" and the "Ex-ile progess" look right now are terrible, IMO. For the "Dome progress", I think it'd be better if we did it the way Survivor and Big Brother handled their returning players. They both used the eliminated colors for their tables. The "darkgray" should be used for this table and when the returnee comes back, we use the standard "SAFE", "WIN", or "DOME".

This is what I've worked on. Obviously, this is not the way it probably went. I used Bananas & Nany as the returnees because they were the recent Ex-ile winners.

Please. Tell me what you think. Aspiring816 (talk) 07:04, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'll change the khaki color, but Survivor does actually do their chart in the order they get eliminated from redemption island. Actually these charts look the best out of all the charts, but we do we do need the exile progress in the first one. I can change it so its like Survivor, but the second chart chart is to get into more detail. The first chart needs the order they leave ex-ile. Bbfan23 (talk) 11:03, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I definitely think this is the best version/what it should look like as the season progresses. I still disagree that the Dome Progress should be in the order that they're permanently eliminated, and rather the order they're sent to ex-ile (and then eliminated once a team returns.) When dealing with Redemption Island for Survivor, the actual elimination order is only seen in the "Contestants" section and the "Season Summary" chart which I think would be akin to the "Cast/Teams" section for this page and the "Battle of the Ex-iled" elimination charts. I think the Dome Progress chart here is basically the Voting History of Survivor and on the actual voting history the elimination order doesn't reflect any aspect of Redemption Island except the sole person to come back (and the jury section, but there's no jury here.) 71.104.224.165 (talk) 02:11, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I feel as if you just signed out and added that, lol, but in all seriousness, I know survivor wikipedia does it that way, but they've changed that chart and it just looks so weird now. BUT, they did actually used to do it in the order they were permanently eliminated. However, if you look on Survivor Wikia, they do it that way too. http://survivor.wikia.com/wiki/Survivor:_Blood_vs._Water If you don't at least show where they were eliminated in exile, then the chart is inaccurate. Even though there is another chart, if you don't include their permanent elimination, there's no point of the Ex-ile chart, and you're acting as if this twist doesn't exist. This isn't Survivor. You don't need to copy off of what Survivor wikipedia says. This is the few times we have a twist, and you're acting like this is a normal season. Bbfan23 (talk) 02:10, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No. The IP address is different, dude. It's not that hard to believe that several different people just don't agree with your method of how to do the table. And it doesn't matter what Survivor Wikia does, because this is Wikipedia. Your way of doing it just doesn't look right to people. I'm looking at it right now and it just looks off. It's not necessary to make the Dome progress in the order of when they're permanently eliminated. The Dome progress shows when they were eliminated in the Dome. We have the Ex-ile progress table to tell us when they were permanently eliminated. I don't understand why you're the only one who is deciding how it should be done. It's starting to look like you don't want to accept anyone else's opinion, but your own. Also, this is just a normal season. The only difference is, is that a team just comes back and this is the easier way to handle it. Your way just makes it look more complicated than it needs to be. Aspiring816 (talk) 05:30, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I was going to make the same point and agree that that's what the survivor wikia does, but this is Wikipedia. I also agree that the whole out and then permanently out cells make it more complicated than it needs to be and that the Dome Progress and Battle of the Ex-iled do the best job possible, separate and as they are right now. 71.104.224.165 (talk) 20:44, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Note d[edit]

I think it should be changed from "In the "Speed Dating" challenge, Zach & Jonna transferred the highest amount of balls from one tractor trailer to another. However, they were disqualified due to Zach jumping from one trailer to another before Jonna had returned to the starting position of one trailer, which had been explained in the rules by T. J. Lavin. Therefore, the team with the next highest amount of balls transferred in the fastest time — Leroy & Nia — were declared the winners by default."

In the "Speed Dating" challenge, Zach & Jonna transferred the highest amount of balls from one tractor trailer to another.
