Plot with happy ending correct?[edit]

The article gives the film a happy ending with Esmerelda and Quasimodo getting married, but I found a different, sadder ending in a film summary in the February 8, 1919 Moving Picture World, which has Esmerelda (incorrectly believed to have killed Phoebus) being executed just as Quasimodo throws the real murder Frollo to his death from the cathedral roof. This second ending seems more plausible as it is more like other Theda Bara melodramatic films like Under Two Flags (1916), where her character is killed at the end saving her lover's life by throwing herself in front of a firing squad. There is no citation in the wiki article for the current questionable plot with a happy ending, which is also very unlike the Hugo novel. Does any one have any information as to which is the correct ending of this lost Theda Bara film? Deanlaw (talk) 20:33, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
