Congeries[edit]

There's not enough evidence in the story to indicate that the "congeries" and the "trapezoid" are the forms of Brown Jenkin and Keziah. After all, they appear in there own forms and also, I've definitely seen somewhere in Lovecraft or Derleth the "congeries" actually identified as a form of Yog-Sothoth; I wish I could remember where.DAC1956 22:48, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The English word "congeries" simply means "masses" or "clusters"; it has no intrinsic paranormal or "extradimensional" meaning. It's the kind of archaic word that Lovecraft liked to toss about, and could have meant several different things in many different stories. 12.233.147.42 (talk) 23:43, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Adaptations[edit]

The entry refers to the Master's of Horror adaptation, saying that among the changes is the old witch, "Keziah Mason becoming what the film's promotional materials refer to as "a luscious she-demon.""

The back of the DVD box does describe her this way, but apart from a scene where she assumes another woman's form, Keziah Mason's still an old witch. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.104.50.141 (talk) 00:14, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For those who don't know, there's a "rock opera" adaptation of Witch House releasing later this month. Should this be added to the adaptations section? http://witchhouserocks.com/

Massive plot cleanup[edit]

I just finished gutting the plot section, primarily to undo the effects of edits by anon 68.193.125.14, who, in addition to needlessly bloating the summary with excessive detail, dumped entire monolithic chunks of the actual story into the section. If anyone prefers simply rolling the article back to the last edit by 2601:d:ca00:18a3:adad:43dd:ca9d:1aec, I won't complain. 12.233.147.42 (talk) 23:48, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with title[edit]

The actual title of the story is "The Dreams in the Witch-House", and everywhere that the term appears in the story it is likewise hyphenated "Witch-House". The article will have to be moved to "The Dreams in the Witch-House", with this page becoming a redirect. 12.233.147.42 (talk) 00:15, 25 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
