Tone[edit]

I'm glad someone wrote this article, but the tone is all wrong for an encyclopedia. It needs to be heavily edited to comply with our standards. ♟♙ (talk) 14:12, 19 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Carroll vs. Carroll's[edit]

Carroll seemed to rule his show with an iron fist. In most of the programs and printed ads, presumably authorized by him personally, the title of the show appears as "The Earl Carroll Vanities." References that he did not control, such as newspaper reviews, tended to refer to the franchise as "Earl Carroll's Vanities." In articles that refer to this page, I left the latter title intact, as it identifies the revue aptly enough.
