Independent article back up. Are the mods on here going to be this pedantic the story exists in its entirety as does the Web of Fear bar episode 3 and if the sources who have been reporting these recoveries for months are to be believed there's a lot more to follow. Patrick Troughton Doubled…[edit]

In addition to using split-screen, Patrick Troughton was doubled as both The Doctor and Salamander by the story’s stunt-man and fight arranger, Peter Diamond, to allow the two characters to fight while showing Troughton’s face (the scene was presumably shot twice, with a costume swap in the middle, and both versions intercut). Change to 625-line standard[edit]

The article currently states that the change from 405- to 625-line recording happened in episode 3. While reading the latest DWM (#466), it states there that the recording found for episode 1 was a 625-line recording. The BBC possessed standards-conversion equipment at this time, so that programmes made for BBC1 could be repeated on BBC2 (which was never 405-line). This might be a standards-converted copy. --Redrose64 (talk) 10:46, 16 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah but this story was never repeated by the Beeb, not even on BBC2 so they would have had no reason to make a copy of a 405 line episode 1 on 625 line tape. And a 405 line structure would still be evident in such a conversion just look at the Callan episodes that were 405 to 625 converted on the Network DVD of the b/w eps. And that would show up even more on a telerecording of such a tape, which means part one was recorded on 625 line vt originally.
