  • "Lawrence Chenault, who played the white aristocrat, was actually a light-skinned African American actor." This is offered in the article without comment, but the point is that, under the rigorous cinematic apatheid in effect, he had to be. That is an interesting point. However, it should be noted that very few race films had white characters, which makes Mr. Chenault's casting unusual. Ecoleetage (talk) 00:50, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
