Argument For/Against Merging[edit]

Support Merge (from Mindy Simmons into this article): Mindy is not major enough to have her own article and besides there is not enough information to make anything more than a stub. If minor recurring characters are all forced into a single article, Mindy Simmons does not deserve her own. Perhaps she should be in List of one-time characters from The Simpsons.

Other infos[edit]

Who the heck is that illegal immigrant I saw on this episode with Mr Burns?

That's Zurtroy, but he's not important —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zonafan39 (talkcontribs) 01:04, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

Is Maggie's not appearing in this episode important/significant enough to be mentioned at all? Is there any reason as to why it's mentioned so early in the article? -Thanks, Suffocation90 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 08:31, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Joey Shabadoo"[edit]

I might be more convinced to keep it if the section didn't have the wrong name. I found the afd discussion here and you appear to have misread it. It was suggested that any "notable, sourceable knowledge" be merged. First off, the result was a definite delete so we don't have to. Second off, there is no "notable, sourceable knowledge" being added. The only thing that comes close to being reliably sourced is a BBC article, and even then it's just a reply to an article. The section contains a lot of original research and unproven clains and Urban dictionary is not and never will be a reliable source. -- Scorpion0422 02:31, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I recognised on Gran's talk page before you wrote this that the AfD was much less clear cut than I recall, and only a few voices called for a merge, but I feel it has enough to be noted. I will look for some sources later and bring them back here.JJJ999 (talk) 02:48, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GA Review[edit]

This review is transcluded from Talk:The Last Temptation of Homer/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

Good job with this. It shouldn't take long to take care of my suggestions...

From Intro: Can you mention in here that Michelle Pfeiffer was the guest star, and maybe a mention about how acclaimed her performance was.

From Plot:

  • "...the more Homer begins to fear that there may be more fusion at the hotel than back at the plant." This appears to be a pun and, not to be a stick in the mud, isn't very encyclopedic. Could you reword it?
  • Can you mention in this section that Marge is sick at and unattractive at home? It's a significant factor in the story.

From Production:

  • I think the amount of single words in "quotes" was a bit overdone in this section. Some of them are appropriate, but others can just as easily be dropped. I took the liberty of dropping a few, so if you could just check and make sure you're OK with the changes, let me know.

Note: I made some grammatical changes in the article, mostly minor stuff, but please take a look. Also, for future reference, this might be a style thing, but avoid using the word "that" so often. 90% of the time, you can just as easily drop the word and the meaning of the sentence remains the same. Take a look at the sentences where I removed the word.

Very nice job! --Hunter Kahn (talk) 02:00, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the review! I think I have addressed all of your concerns. :) TheLeftorium 10:21, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Title reference[edit]

there is no link to the title (referencing the Last Temptation of Christ)

We can only provide a link if we find a reliable source, which says the title is a reference to the Last Temptation of Christ. --Maitch (talk) 10:20, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Soka Gakkai is a subset of Nichiren Buddhism, so this is factually inaccurate. However, without access to the source I can't tell if it's okay to remove the reference to Soka Gakkai altogether, or replace it with "in Nichiren Buddhism and Tendai Buddhism" (per this source). Given that Soka Gakkai is relatively very prominent in American popular culture, I guess the source probably just says "Soka Gakkai" and the episode is only referencing Soka Gakkai rather than other sects of Japanese Buddhism that emphasize the Lotus Sutra, so would it be more appropriate to remove "Nichiren Buddhism and" instead?
