Taking down the additional citations marker and the future of the article[edit]

1. What sources are actually still needed for this article as it is? It has quite a few sources, and most of the information is readily apparent in the books themselves. The "needs additional citations" marker is 6 years old and it looks like this article is ready to move on.

2. I have some ideas for further content to be added to this page.

a. Full section w/ heading on the influence of the Drizzt books on the Forgotten Realms/DnD community. How have the settings in TLoD (like Icewind Dale, Calimport, Luskan, Mithral Hall, Menzoberranzan, Blingdenstone, Silverymoon, etc) expanded upon the world of Forgotten Realms? Has Salvatore changed the understanding and depiction of drow elves in other media? Has he influenced other writers (not with his worldbuilding but with his writing style or character development)? Are there adaptations of Drizzt in other media? When did movie hype and fan films start (and what are some fan creations)? Is the game Icewind Dale influenced by TLoD?

b. Section on interaction between TLoD and other influential series in the Forgotten Realms setting (particularly the Cleric Quintet, since Cadderly Bonaduce and company feature in some TLoD books). May deserve a full heading, or may be wrapped into previous section. Have books by other authors built onto Salvatore's creations?

c. Maybe a full section on the development of the books over time. Has the series been continually developed, or has it stopped and started? Has Salvatore taken on other projects at times and left Drizzt alone? What is the future of the series (beyond just the next book release date)? Who and what is Salvatore influenced by in his writing of TLoD specifically? Are any of the characters inspired by roleplaying experiences of his? Did fan interactions influence the direction of the books?

d. What are some things that could be said about the series beyond dry information? For example, an article on LOTR would note major features of the writing style or content. I'd like to mention the character development of Drizzt and his inter-chapter journal-style monologues as a huge feature of the book, as well as its focus on moral and personal issues like religion, companionship, and overcoming personal trauma. It might also be mentioned that many of the books switch off between multiple characters, often by chapter. TLoD tends to give the perspectives of multiple characters. Book length might also be mentioned.

e. Look at the Drizzt Do'Urden character page and consider moving some content to the series page if it's more relevant here.

f. We need some pictures! The cover art for the books is so good. I'm not sure what a representative picture would be but I'd nominate an Icewind Dale cover or some art from a box set.

Feel free to directly copy and paste what I said here into the article if you have a citation for it. It's just my opinion but if you can prove it's true and if you think it sounds good, go for it, no need to ask me. If you want help, though, I'll be happy to provide it. I just don't really have the time to go all in and do this by myself.
