Influenced[edit]

It seems to me that the story has influenced a number of B-Horror movies, such as Wrong Turn, you know the whole inbred, freak plot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.132.191.73 (talk) 09:37, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Metallica[edit]

I realize this isn't really related to anything, but anyone else find it interesting that the article mentions the phrase "creeping death" and a ghost that "rode the midnight lighting" (both phrases related to songs on Ride The Lightning)? Especially with the other Lovecraft references Metallica made (The name of The Call of Ktulu and the lyrics of The Thing That Should Not Be).

Neither phrase in the story deals with the subject matter of the respective songs, but it's still interesting, at least to me (inspiration for the title, maybe?). Salur 10:58, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Without an independent source saying that the songs were inspired by The Lurking Fear, I think drawing that conclusion ourselves would be original research. Nareek 12:14, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I realize that (I wasn't ever planning to put it in either article, it's just my speculation). I just thought it was a little odd and warranted mentioning here. Salur 08:16, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Inspiration section[edit]

How is this even remotely about inspiration? it's about the publishing. ArdClose (talk) 17:23, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
