Issues[edit]

This is an informative and interesting article, but its writing is more of an essay than an encyclopeida. It also lacks any sources at all, which undermines its credibility. Source?[edit]

I'm not so concerned with its being written as an essay, as to the source of such detailed information. Is it all based on memory? It is true to my own memories of the program, but that is not relevant to my point. To my knowledge, The Millionaire, as most 1940s through 1960s television programs, was not recorded in any way (including as written synopses) and is now available only in short kinescope excerpts. I certainly may be wrong, so I would appreciate feedback from anyone familiar with these topics. David Spector (talk) 14:35, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Probable genesis of the TV show, "The Millionaire."[edit]

In the Wikipedia article there is no mention of a 1932 Paramount Pictures film called "If I Had a Million", starring a bevy of famous actors of the time, nor of a radio series called "The Millionaire." The premise of the film is the same as that of the radio shows and the TV series. It consists of a series of vignettes as random people are given checks for $1,000,000. Junior? Probably an error[edit]

in June 2010 the name "John Beresford Tipton" was edited to add a "Jr." There's no attribution to support this change; the character has no "Jr." in IMDB, and it's not supported by the TV.COM link. (I have no memory of "Jr." ever being mentioned in the show, which mentioned the name in the opening segment of every episode.) The edit was made anonymously.
