Another story about Nasreddin which looks related[edit]

It is the story number 843 in this collection. Can't find any reference connecting it to Aesop, though. It goes as follows. Tamerlane shows Nasreddin his treasury full of gemstones. When Nasreddin inquires about about their value and use, the reply is that their value is that of the whole China, and their use is none, because they're only there for Tamerlane's pleasure. Nasreddin then pulls out a whetstone and states it is a stone of little value yet a lot of use. Omeganian (talk) 17:54, 11 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
