Segments section[edit]

I wanted to start a discussion to get some consensus on the segments section. In an effort to shake some of the deadwood out of the article, I started to have a look around and found that the segments section contains items that are fairly common to a lot of hot talk and/or "morning zoo" formats of radio. Do we think that this info is unique enough to the Monsters for inclusion in the article? - JaKaL! (talk) 13:02, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's not so much that it makes them unique, as to what defines the show. Rhoadrunner (talk) 13:18, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I can see that. My fear is that these sections may not pique the interests of people that aren't already fans of the show. There are other radio show based articles that don't include this level of information. See the Opie and Anthony & Howard Stern articles for examples; they're not GA's or FA's but the wikiradio project gives them both a B for quality which places them pretty close. Furthermore, I think the former format section describes the show a bit better than a list of the daily segments. - JaKaL! (talk) 13:38, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This is late, but see WP:FAN for more details. - JaKaL! (talk) 13:12, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cast section(s)[edit]

I think the the current and former cast sections are getting big enough to deserve their own main articles with summaries remaining here. I can start this unless someone has an objection. JaKaL! (talk) 13:10, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orlando radio vs. Chicago TV[edit]

Apparently, there is no connection between the subject of this article -- an Orlando-based radio show -- and a short-lived Chicago TV show of the same name. The following sources do not describe a radio show hosted by Russ "Triple R" Rollins at WTKS-FM/Orlando, but rather a morning TV show hosted by Dan Jiggetts and Mike North at WBBM-TV/Chicago:

  1. Lazare, Lewis (December 12, 2008). "Morning monsters". The Chicago Sun-Times. Retrieved 12 August 2013.
  2. Rosenthal, Phil (November 1, 2009). "'Monsters in the Morning' sent to graveyard by Comcast SportsNet Chicago". Chicago Tribune. Retrieved 12 August 2013.
  3. Feder, Robert (December 3, 2009). "Can 'Monsters' bring Channel 2 back from the dead?". WBEZ. Retrieved 12 August 2013.
  4. Cox, Ted (January 9, 2009). "Ready for return of 'Monsters'". Daily Herald (Arlington Heights, IL). Retrieved 12 August 2013.
  5. Rosenthal, Phil (January 13, 2009). "Debut of 'Monsters in the Morning' a snooz". Chicago Tribune. Retrieved 12 August 2013.

I will be removing these sources, as well as any references to the "Monsters" show in Chicago, unless someone can show they belong here. Levdr1lp / talk 09:51, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
